Course Content

1. Laser Theory and Laser types (8h)
The Laser Theory and Laser Types module covers the basic principles of how lasers work, including light amplification by stimulated emission, and key properties. It explains the main types of lasers and how they operate in continuous or pulsed modes. The module also covers laser classification based on power and hazard levels, and the significance of beam properties affecting laser performance and applications. It provides foundational knowledge necessary for understanding laser technology and safe handling.

2. Skin Types & Common Anomalies (8h)
The skin is the largest organ of the human body and serves as a protective barrier, regulator of body temperature, and a sensory interface with the environment. Aesthetic professionals must understand the skin’s structure and functions to provide personalized treatments and recognize potential issues requiring specialist care.

3. Tattoos & the Science of Laser Removal (8h)
Understanding what we remove is the foundation of every treatment decision. This module covers tattoo ink composition and how pigment sits in the dermis, the photothermal and photoacoustic mechanisms that break ink apart, and how Q-switched and PICO wavelengths are matched to different ink colors.

4. Consultation, Assessment & Treatment Planning (8h)
The outcome of a removal course is largely decided before the first pulse. This module covers the structured consultation and the Kirby-Desai scale, indications and contraindications, honest expectation-setting and informed consent, and planning test spots, session numbers and intervals.

5. Treatment Protocols, Aftercare & Complications (8h)
This module brings everything together at the device. It covers the step-by-step treatment protocol and parameter selection, reading the frosting endpoint, expected side effects versus true complications, aftercare and healing between sessions, and tracking results across a full removal course.
