The old format was a long scroll of text with a diagram every few screens. It was accurate, but it was slow to read on a phone and easy to forget. The 2026 rebuild kept the clinical content and changed how it is delivered. Every lesson in every course now follows the same visual, concise pattern, so once you have done one module you know how to move through all of them.

How is a single lesson built?

Open any lesson and you will see the same rhythm. It starts with the memo cards — the two or three numbers you must know — then a tabbed explainer that lets you move through a topic layer by layer, then practical cards that translate the theory into what you do with your hands, and finally the check. How do self-paced theory and booked practice fit together?

This is the change most students asked for. Theory no longer has a fixed timetable. You enrol, the modules unlock, and you work through them at whatever pace fits around your job or family — an hour on the bus, a full Sunday, or a module a week. Your progress is saved, and you can reopen any lesson for revision as often as you like. Practice is separate: when the theory is done and you feel ready, you book your hands-on session at the Plateau or Laval clinic and work on real equipment under supervision.

What does the 7-day free trial include?

You can try any course, in either language, free for seven days. The trial is the real course, not a demo: you get the first lessons with the memo cards, tabbed explainers, checks and the interactive question set, so you can judge for yourself whether the format suits how you learn. Getting access takes two steps: register a free student account, then email us which course you want to try and a few words about your study goals, and we open it for you. There is no automatic billing when the seven days end; if you want to continue, you enrol.

Which online esthetician courses can you take, and what is in each one?

There are eight certification courses, each available in English and in French, and each rebuilt in the 2026 format. All of them open with the same foundation — health and safety, hygiene and sterilisation, skin anatomy and skin typing — before moving into the technique the course is named for. The module counts below are read from the live course player; each module is scoped at roughly eight hours of study.

How do the interactive questions and essays work?

Recall and reasoning are two different skills, and a clinic needs both. The interactive question set at the end of each module tests recall: multiple-choice items with immediate feedback, so a wrong answer tells you what to reread rather than just costing a point. The essay tests reasoning: a short written answer to a scenario — a client with a particular skin type and concern, a contraindication to spot, a treatment plan to justify. Essays are read by our team, and the feedback is where most of the real teaching happens.

How does financing work?

Course fees range from $990 to $1,500 depending on the program, and you do not have to pay them in one payment. Interest-free instalment plans are available at checkout, and for longer terms you can finance a course over 3 to 24 months through Klarna or Affirm. What happens after you graduate?

A certificate is the beginning of the job, not the end of it, and this is where we spend as much effort as on the lessons. The curriculum is built so that what you learn is what a clinic will ask you to do on day one — the same protocols, the same consultation flow, the same safety habits we use ourselves. Beyond that, for students who want to open their own practice, we help with the four things that stop most new technicians: getting the business set up, getting clients, getting insured, and getting the right device without overpaying.

Who is this program not for?

Honesty is part of the training, so a few plain statements. Our courses are professional certification courses; they are not a government DEP diploma, and if a DEP is what a specific employer or program requires, you need a vocational centre, not us. Québec has no single licence for most medical-aesthetic roles, and cosmetic laser hair removal is not a reserved medical act — but injectables are, and no IPLLAB course qualifies anyone to inject. The regulatory gap is the reason to train properly, never a reason not to.
